As a young boy raised up In Western Ohio on the seat of a tractor, farming corn and soybeans was all I dreamed of doing… until in 2007 my family relocated to the Pacific Northwest. The following year, my father purchased an apple orchard and at the age of 16, I began managing the ranch, growing apples, pears, cherries, alfalfa and edible beans. From learning to farm with a dependence on mountain snowpack for irrigation, to leaning on experienced tree fruit managers and field men for answers, my journey into the world of food production agriculture was well underway by 2010. Because my dad was a CCA and agronomist who worked with growers and farmers in many different crops, I was privileged to gain much of my understanding of soil health and crop nutrition from him. In 2016, I moved my family to Southern New Mexico to join a small church planting effort just north of El Paso, TX. At that time I was hired to manage a 120 acre pecan farm in Mesquite, NM and shortly after, began leasing the farm from my father-in-law.
