I grew up in the Hatch valley of southern New Mexico, the chile capital of the world. I’ve been involved in agriculture since I was young and my interest in it only grew from there. It all started with helping around my grandfather’s farm with basic duties and eventually led me to an internship with a private crop consultant. After spending a couple summer of interning, I made the decision to go to college at New Mexico State University for a degree in agriculture. After attending for 3 years, I graduated with a bachelor's degree of Science in Agriculture and a minor in Pest Management.

While at NMSU, I worked in the entomology lab where we ran pesticide efficacy studies in pecans, for aphid suppression and in onions, for thrip control. We also ran sap testing of leaves to measure residual pesticide presence. Since graduating in 2018, I’ve been studying and broadening my agriculture education to help me reach my goal of becoming a certified crop consultant. Recently I’ve become more interested in regenerative agriculture after seeing how beneficial it is, both for our crops and ourselves! I desire to continue diving deeper into understanding the positive impact this can have on our crops and work closely beside local farmers.
